Summer is upon us, and we have some awesome activities for your preschooler to do! They will enjoy all of these fun ideas, and you will enjoy doing them with them, as well. Check out these 10 preschooler friendly summer activities:
1. Homemade Ice Cream
Nothing will cool you and your preschooler off during the hot summer months like homemade ice cream! Your little ones will have so much fun partaking in this summer activity with you. Check out this simple homemade ice cream recipe and enjoy this sweet treat all summer long.
2. Picnic at the Park
A good, old fashioned picnic at the park is another great addition to your summer activities list. Let your preschooler help pick out foods to pack and make it fun! They’ll love having quality time with you and enjoy eating lunch together in a different environment.
3. Backyard Camping
Grab your tents and sleeping bags, and get ready for a backyard camping trip! Your kids will think this is so much fun and it’s something you can do as an entire family. Just make sure you check the weather for any rain beforehand!
4. Sidewalk Chalk
Sidewalk chalk is an inexpensive and artistic way to have fun this summer! Draw murals on your driveway for all of your neighbors that pass by to enjoy. You could even create a game of hopscotch or foursquare to play!
5. DIY Bird Feeder
Another super fun idea would be to create a DIY bird feeder. These can often be made with supplies and things you already have all around the house. Grab some birdseed at your local pet store and enjoy watching the birds use your homemade feeder. Your preschooler will love adding this to their summer activities list!
6. Visit the Library
Of course, no summer is complete without reading some good books! A visit to your local library is a great thing to do over the summer. Let your children explore the rows and rows of books and pick out what interests them! It’ll make for great reading practice and lasting memories.
7. Water Parks
It’s not summertime without a trip to the water park! Southwest Florida is home to two great options. Sun N Fun Lagoon in Naples and SunSplash in Cape Coral are great places to add to your summer activities list. A leisurely float down the lazy river or a plunge into a waterslide will make for great summer fun!
8. Puzzles
Puzzles are the ultimate solution for any “I’m bored” complaints during the summertime! Pick out a few that your preschooler could do independently but also be sure to grab some that you can do as an entire family. If you have a really big one, it could be an activity that lasts all throughout the summer.
9. Start a Garden
Another great outdoor activity would be to start a garden! Grab a few packs of seeds for some simple plants that grow well during the summertime and watch your garden sprout. Your little one will enjoy doing this activity with you while getting to learn all about how plants grow.
10. Beach Trip
It’s just not summertime without a few trips to the beach! This is a great option to add to your preschooler’s list of summer activities because it can be just a few hours or a whole day kind of thing. Just make sure to apply and reapply sunscreen!
