Summertime is just around the corner, and it’s so important to keep your children as active as possible. Getting them up and moving will help keep their bodies and minds active and growing. It can be difficult to find things for them to do but certainly not impossible! Here are 10 great ways to keep your child active this summer:
1. Swimming
There’s no better summertime activity than swimming! It’s a great way to stay cool in the heat as well as keep your kids active. If you don’t have your own swimming pool, Lee County offers several public pool options that would be great to visit for a day!
2. Scavenger Hunt
Doing a scavenger hunt with your kids will not only help them to get active, but it will help exercise their minds, too. Whether you create it for them or let them help you create it, they will enjoy spending that time with you!
3. Obstacle Course
An obstacle course is a super fun way to keep your child active during the summer! Random objects around your house or in your garage make for a great set up. Spread your items out throughout the yard and watch your little ones have so much fun!
4. Kid Friendly Yoga
Another great option to keep your kids active during the summertime is with kid friendly yoga! Streaming platforms like YouTube and Amazon Prime offer great selections. One of our favorite is Cosmic Kids Yoga.
5. Water Games
Water games are a great way to stay active and they are so much fun! Fill up some water balloons for a water balloon fight or play a game of tag with the sprinklers on. You can’t go wrong with water games!

Another option that will challenge your child’s body and mind is to make up some sort of game or activity. Let them be as creative as possible. It could just end up being their new favorite thing to do!
