The clock is ticking as summer comes to an end and school starts again. While we are so excited for a brand new school year, we know the end of a long break can be a bummer. It’s always nice to take some time off from school and relax as a family. As families gear up to head back to school, there is lots of prep work, such as supply shopping and getting back in the flow of daily routines. While these things are great, and we highly recommend them, we also think it’s a good idea to slow down at the end of the summer and do something fun before heading back to school. That’s why we have 5 fun ways to end summer break!
Trip to the Zoo
One fun way to close out the summer and have some fun before the start of a new school year is to take a family trip to the zoo! If you haven’t already done this, it is a fun way to make memories as summertime ends. The Naples Zoo is a great option. It’s just a short drive south for a day full of having fun and making wild memories. They have fun animals like cheetahs, black bears, monkeys, and more. There is something for the whole family to enjoy when you end your summer break with a trip to the zoo!
Staycation
If time and budget allow, another great way to end summer break is by taking a family staycation! You could pick a local hotel or Airbnb to stay at for a night or two or travel an hour or two away if getting out of town sounds more fun to you and your family. Either way, taking a staycation is a super fun way to spend time together as a family while making some final lasting summer memories.
Fancy Dinner
A fancy dinner is another great way to end summer break and kick off a new school year! Your kids will think it’s so fun to get dressed up and go to a fancy restaurant as a family. While sitting around the table and enjoying a delicious meal, you could each share your favorite summertime memory. You all will love reliving each other’s favorite parts of the break!
Go to the Waterpark
Nothing says the end of summer break quite like a family trip to the waterpark! Sun Splash in Cape Coral and Sun N Fun Lagoon in Naples are both excellent options. Going to the water park is also a great way to beat this brutal summer heat. Your family will love making some final summertime memories as you go shooting down water slides and floating through the lazy river. It’s a family outing that your kids will be proudly sharing with all of their friends as they head back to school!
Living Room Sleepover
Have you ever done a living room sleepover with your family before?! If not, there’s no better time than the end of this year’s summer break to try it out! Pull out the blankets, pillows, and air mattresses, and get ready for some family slumber party fun. You can pop popcorn and pick out some of your favorite movies while everyone snuggles up in the middle of the living room together. Maybe not the comfiest option for Mom and Dad, but it certainly will make for lasting memories as summer comes to a close. It could even become an end-of-summer tradition!
